At Comberton Village College, we recognise that the learning within a school does not have to conform to the structure of the school day and therefore we strive to offer a comprehensive and engaging programme at appropriate times. These opportunities are offered by staff and associates of the college, with the view to offering a broader experience of activities, competition or mastery. The extra-curricular menu is updated every half term, and there is a different programme offered at that the start of each term. The specific information can be found within the linked webpages for extra-curricular activities.
We are very proud to be able to offer experiences which build to conclusive events within a year, whether that be an expedition in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, a Dance piece at the end of term Dance showcase, a drama production or representing the school within the many sports competitions across the year.
There are clubs which request a financial contribution towards the costs of operating, which can be completed via WisePay or by cheque to the finance department. The members of staff offering these opportunities are mindful of the request made and therefore every effort is made to keep the costs down. If a student would like to access a club and is unable to complete the payment requested, then please do direct enquiries to the specific Head of Department.
In the event that transport via the public bus service is not suitable for your child to travel home, we do offer an after school club from 3-6 pm every day, in which students can access refreshments and be supervised by an adult until family members are able to collect their children. The specific details of this club can be found on the following link -http://www.combertonvc.org/AfterSchoolClub
Please do take a look at the clubs list on the school website and encourage your son/daughter to attend an extra-curricular PE club this year.
In order for the extra-curricular programme and our resources to be sustained, we ask for a voluntary payment of £10 per pupil or £12 per family per term. This contribution is used to enable us to purchase new equipment, fund the club linked coaches and to pay for transport costs and competition entry fees, which are essential for the programme to be successful.
We request that this payment is made at the beginning of each term through our preferred method of WisePay or you may take cheque or cash to the finance office.
We look forward to seeing your son/daughter at many of our clubs throughout the year.
