Comberton Village College is a highly successful, community mixed comprehensive school with Teaching School status in a pleasant rural setting only 5 miles from the centre of Cambridge. We currently have over 1,800 11-18 year old pupils on roll with a new sixth form centre that opened in September 2011. Our pupils are well motivated, staff morale is excellent and our examination results are outstanding.

Green Room Teaching Assistants

Salary: Scale TA1A (range 12-14)(£17,173 to £17,681 full time equivalent)

Hours of work: 25 hours per week, term time only

We are seeking a teaching assistant to join our Green Room unit. The purpose of the role is to help students to remain integrated in varying degrees within mainstream education; to support their work experience or college placements; to help students deal with any issues which might be having an impact on their school life.

Having an awareness of mental health issues, particularly Attachment Disorder, would be advantageous.

Resource Technician (VI) - TA Level 2

Salary:  scale TA2 point 14 (range 14 to 17) (£17,681to £18,672 full time equivalent) 

Hours of work:  20 to 25 per week, term time only

 

We are seeking to appoint a Resource Technician to support Visually Impaired students in mainstream education.

A substantial part of the work will be to prepare appropriate resources for the students. This may be via re-formatting, enlargement, Braille or the production of tactile resources to meet the individual needs of identified students. Having a working knowledge of Braille would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided. 

The successful applicant needs to have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.  As a Resource Technician you should also enjoy problem-solving and dealing with a range of people and have excellent organisational skills as you will be responsible for coordinating resources between teaching and support staff in a timely manner.  You will also need to demonstrate the ability to assist colleagues in a professional and pleasant manner. 

The role will also include working as a TA supporting students to access learning in class using appropriate strategies and resources.
