Comberton Village College is a highly successful, community mixed comprehensive school with Teaching School status in a pleasant rural setting only 5 miles from the centre of Cambridge. We currently have over 1,800 11-18 year old pupils on roll with a new sixth form centre that opened in September 2011. Our pupils are well motivated, staff morale is excellent and our examination results are outstanding.

Catering Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiatic person to join our catering team. Previous catering experience is desirable but we will consider applicants without experience 

Hours: 20 per week, 9:30am to 2pm, term time only

Salary: Scale 1A (point 6) £15,014 full time equivalent (£6,732 actual per annum)

Head of RPE

HEAD OF RELIGION, PHILOSOPHY AND ETHICS DEPARTMENT

To start September 2018

MPS or UPS plus TLR 2b (£4,557 per annum)

We are a highly successful, community mixed comprehensive school with Teaching School status in a pleasant rural setting only 5 miles from the centre of Cambridge. We currently have over 1,800 11-18 pupils on roll including over 350 in our new sixth form centre that opened in September 2011. 

Our pupils are well motivated, staff morale is excellent and examination results are outstanding: 78% including Maths and English and 39% of grades were A*/A: whilst at A-level 90% of grades were A* - C.

The post includes overseeing a large dynamic, collaborative and forward-thinking department, holding responsibility across the key stages. It is a role that is incredibly diverse, from overseeing and contributing to the writing of schemes of work and resources, to the strategic development of the RPE department and responsibility of new initiatives to support the department’s progression in our changing educational climate. RPE is a popular subject at both KS4 and KS5, with high numbers of students choosing to study RPE further as an option. Overall, students achieve strong results with 83% of students achieving A*-C in 2017 (52% A*-A) at GCSE and 55% achieving A*-A and 100% A*-C at A-level.

Adult Education Assistant

The aim of the post is to provide general administrative support for the Adult Education Department of the College.  Duties will include dealing with queries from the general public, processing enrolments and payments and keeping registers up-to-date. Candidates must have good I.T. skills and a good level of literacy and numeracy.

Hours: 12 hours a week

Salary: scale 2, point 12, (range 12 to 14, £16,123-£16,781 full time equivalent)
