GCSE Results joy

24th August 2017

Pupils at Comberton Village College have much to celebrate as the first cohort who sat the harder GCSEs in English and maths.

80% of the pupils gained grades ranging from 9 - 4 (A* - C in previous terms) in both of these qualifications and an impressive 39% of all GCSE grades awarded were A* / A (9 - 7 for English and maths).

As a fully comprehensive school, students across the board achieved outstanding successes in a wide range of subjects and are now ready to embark on the next stage of their learning, with many doing so at Comberton Sixth Form.

Head of School Peter Law said: "It has been hugely rewarding to see our pupils develop over the last five years, not only through the excellent lessons but also the very many extra activities (sports events, music groups, residential trips, social trips, and a huge range more) that have helped them develop into the fabulous young adults that they are today. It is a pleasure to be able to join with them in recognising their successes."
