Comberton Village College was designated as one of the first teaching schools in the country. As a school we have a long and successful history of providing training and support for the profession, from initial teacher education through to senior leadership. We are committed to the provision of high quality continuing professional development for teachers and offer a variety of training courses and support under the umbrella of the Cambridge Teaching Schools Network.
Our sustained and extensive involvement in Initial Teacher Education includes working with local HEI’s to provide Post Graduate Certificate of Education training through the Schools Direct programme. In addition, we operate a School Direct salaried and non-salaried route into the profession through our SCITT. We have a history of successfully delivering nationally recognised CPD programmes. Currently we offer National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership and the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership which we have now run successfully for several years. We are committed to developing our own in-house programmes; Developing Effective Teaching, Developing Outstanding Teaching, Developing Middle Leaders and Developing Senior Leaders. We are also a lead school in the CamSTAR research network. We have extensive experience in providing effective school to school support, across a range of contexts, using our ASTs and SLEs. Further details about all our courses, school to school support offer and ITE provision, including how to apply can be found on the Cambridge Teaching schools Network website.
