After School Club closing

14th November 2018

For some years Comberton VC has offered the After School Club as a loss leading service. We have done this because we thought it an important offer to parents and carers ensuring there is always an informal safe place to be for students outside of the schools normal hours, during the teaching year.

In recent times, in light of the funding shortages being suffered by education across the country, it has been very difficult to justify the provision of this service. I am afraid to say that from Thursday 13th December the ASC will no longer run. For those parents and carers who have taken advantage of the service I hope that a months-notice will be sufficient time to make other arrangements.

With the evenings drawing in can I remind parent and carers that the library is still open for homework till 4pm every night. Also, students are encouraged to attend the many after school clubs that take place during every week. For safe guarding reasons students should be either in the library or at a club after the end of the school day and should not be wandering around the school site or spending long periods waiting in the school reception area.
