Uniform update

15th June 2020

As you will be aware, the school’s uniform suppliers had scheduled uniform events to be held for ‘Year 6’ and ‘all years’ throughout the coming months. This service is a vitally important part of supporting families to access appropriate uniform, accurate sizing and complete transactions in one convenient visit to the school campus. Given the current national conditions and the related restrictions for gatherings of people, appropriate sanitising of materials, reduced contact in public spaces, we have explored the possibilities regarding purchasing uniform, considering the safety of all those involved.

Following a period of review and discussions with our suppliers, we have made the decision to postpone the sales events until a later date. As you will appreciate, we need to be assured that our suppliers are able to provide a safe sizing and purchasing experience for families when sourcing uniform. Given the numbers of families requiring uniform and the procedures required to sanitise garments used for sizing, this is not a viable option available to the school. As yet, we are not in a position to confirm when these rearranged dates might be.

At present, we remain unclear of the requirement for schools to open to larger student groups, beyond the current 'some face to face for Year 10 and 12’ and Keyworker provision. Whilst we remain unclear of the opening requirements, the school's expectation on uniform policy will remain under temporary suspension and review. We would therefore suggest that the purchasing of uniform via the school uniform shops, not be a priority for families at this time. Please be assured that when we do eventually welcome larger groups of students back to school in uniform, we will ensure reasonable notice is given and appropriate support is offered by the suppliers.

We hope this helps reassure those families who were planning to purchase new uniform for Year 6 students or replacement items for all other year groups.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and support during this challenging period.
