Yr 7 Sept 2020 Bus information

4th May 2020

You should have received an email from Cambridgeshire County Council’s Admissions team inviting you to apply for free transport to Comberton from September if you believe you are eligible. This is a change from previous council policy where they automatically issued passes to all eligible students joining Year 7 so you will need to apply regardless of past practice but only once as passes will be automatically sent out in subsequent years.

To qualify for free transport, I am advised that you must live in one of the following villages:

Gamlingay, The Heath (Gamlingay), East Hatley, Hatley St George, Tetworth, Longstowe, Caxton, Bourn, Caldecote, Hardwick, Dry Drayton, Madingley, Haslingfield, Harlton, Coton, Grantchester, Gt & Lt Eversden, Kingston, Barton (Wimpole Rd high numbers only).

Please apply online at before the end of June. If you are eligible then your child’s pass should arrive in the summer holiday. Please contact the Education Transport team on if you have not received a pass you believe you are entitled to by August 21st 2020.

If you do not live in one of these villages but hope to take your child to catch a council run bus by purchasing a spare seat at a cost of £250 per term then you can apply on the council website above from Saturday May 23rd. You can email or telephone 0345 045 5208. It is first come, first served. You will need to continually re-apply before the end of the previous term for the subsequent term. (ie Nov for the spring term and March for the summer term) and acceptance is not guaranteed as it is governed totally by availability. Please be advised that the council may not tell you whether your spare seat application has been successful until after term has started so you should be prepared to make alternative arrangements for the first few days of term.

For those living elsewhere, you should have already received an email from Mrs Judy Czylok, our bus manager, detailing the paid-for services run by Comberton which you may be able to access. If you have already responded, then no further action is required at this time. If not, or if you require further information/clarification, then please contact Mrs Czylok at as these services are filling up fast and the deadline to guarantee a seat is Monday May 18th May.
